How to contact exchange support

In short

Always start from the contact route inside the official app or website. A contact found through a search or on social media may be a fake support channel. Before you write, gather your registered email address, when it happened, any transaction ID and what the screen showed — it cuts the number of back-and-forth replies.

Key points

  • Reach support from inside the official app or site — never via a DM or a search advert
  • Prepare your account details, the time it happened, any transaction ID and the exact error shown
  • Support never asks for your password, your 2FA code or your seed phrase
  • Response times vary with volume and can run to several days

Definition

The channels an exchange provides for customer enquiries — a web form, in-app chat, or email, depending on the operator.

Before writing in, exhaust what you can check yourself. Help centres and FAQs cover most situations and resolve them faster. If the cause is an incident or maintenance, it will be on the notices page. Individual enquiries take time to answer, so clearing the published information first is usually the quicker route.

Enter the support channel from inside the official app or website. Adverts for a 'support desk' in search results, accounts on social media calling themselves official support and sending DMs, and helpful strangers in community chats are all standard fake-support tactics. A genuine exchange does not, as a rule, reply to your public post with a private message.

Gather your information first: the name and email address on the account, when the problem occurred with the time zone stated, the asset and amount, the transaction ID if a transfer is involved, the exact wording of any error, your device and app version, and what you already tried. Attach screenshots if they help — but check first that no seed phrase, private key or 2FA QR code is visible in them.

Write it as a plain chronology: what you did, when, and what happened. Keep speculation and frustration to a minimum, and summarise the issue in the subject line so it reaches the right team faster. Response times depend on the operator and the backlog; several days is ordinary at busy periods. Sending the same enquiry through several channels tends to slow things down rather than speed them up.

If anyone claiming to be support asks for your password, a 2FA code, a seed phrase, a private key, or wants you to install remote-control software, they are not support. Genuine staff never ask for these. At the first sign of something off, stop the conversation and start again from the channel inside the official app.

Watch out for

  • · Anyone approaching you as 'support' on social media or a chat app is a scammer. Open the official channel yourself instead
  • · Refuse any request to install remote-control software; sharing your screen hands over your balance and your controls
  • · Before sending a screenshot, confirm it does not show a seed phrase, a private key or a 2FA QR code

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I contact them by phone?

Some operators run a phone line, but many offer only a form or chat. If you do call, use only a number published on the official site — numbers found through search have turned out to be fake.
